Version History

What changed in each version of Network Switcher. Betas are early versions for people who turned on Get beta versions in Settings → Updates.

0.19.0 Beta

2026-10-07

  • Reacts straight away to adaptors and cables. Plugging in or removing an adaptor, or connecting a cable, now updates the menu within about a second, instead of up to 30 seconds later.
  • A preset only shows as active while its adaptor is connected. Removing an adaptor no longer leaves its preset ticked.
  • Faster suggestions when you plug in. Switch details are forgotten as soon as a cable is unplugged, so plugging back in counts as arriving somewhere straight away, and a matching preset is suggested as soon as the switch announces itself (usually within seconds).
  • Applying a preset to an adaptor that isn't plugged in now says so, instead of claiming it didn't apply.

0.18.0 Beta

2026-10-07

  • Beta versions: turn on Settings → Updates → Get beta versions to get new features and fixes before they're released to everyone. Test versions have it on already, so from this version on they update themselves.
  • macOS should no longer ask for Location or Bluetooth permission again after each update.
